The hearing function development of the human being has been demonstrated as early as 22 weeks of amenorrhea.  For the all intra-uterine period, the foetus receives regular stimuli generated by the maternal activity. These stimuli support the foetus functions and development .

In the case of a pre-term birth or an hospitalisation during childhood, the physical and sensory bond with the close relatives is altered  despite the  enforcement, on a large scale, of development cares aiming at a individualised and personalised approach for each child.

CaliNange is involved in easing the stress factors by proposing an inborn, natural, known environment in proximity with the child, anytime during the medical care.

“However, despite some improvements, the extended hospitalisation of these babies, is linked to a deep alteration of the mother-child link developed during foetal life.  Yet, a lot of scientific facts point out the importance of this link, in particular keeping the exposure to the voice for the subsequent development of the child. When the project developed by Calinescence was presented, I immediately felt the interest we could have to collaborate in the success of this concept: develop  a personalised object with a multi-sensory interface offering a means of maintaining a parent-child link within the hospital environment. The device  allows a great space  to the preservation of the mother-child link through the recording and emission of her voice and quiet heart beats.”

“A project  coming from the heart, that brings together the child and his mother, parents. A project developed with the medical community, allowing it to better support the children it already treats  with the utmost care. A project combining advanced technology with the knowledge concerning the newborn psychology and particularly the pre-term babies. A project embedded in a real dynamic, we must carry on and bring to a success. The Cea, together with the other actors of the project, is proud to contribute. ”
